The perfect Decalogue to hit squarely with choosing your tie

I know, pick a good tie is a task that everyone at some point has led us down the path of bitterness. We arrived at the store with the shirt and suit in mind and see them all there, so bright, so well chosen colors and all so well placed … we get lost in a sea of ??doubt in which all we are worth and at the same any time. And we do not want that to happen, and less as you wear reading us taking so long, here are ten tips for not err in choosing tie!

As in all things, size does matter
The bond must be proportionate measures and not be too narrow or too wide. The right thing would be from about 8.5 to 9.5 cm at its widest point, depending of course on the type of knot we use, that there are up to four knotted even remotely going to enforce this rule.
The knot is the key

Perhaps the most important part of the pattern above we choose, as a bad knot made spoil the result inevitably. It has to be done without excessive pressure but also avoiding the “waste flap”. Important to know that we will break the tie knot afternoon and hang it on the hanger, when it has been stretched at night.
Choose either the material

Our suggestions: silk jacquard for the more sober and regal style, light silk scarf when our look bet on the printed fabric and lines of wool or Scottish patterns for winter sportswear.

The color has its time

Are preferred, such as costumes and generally in the rest of fashion, light colors for the morning, hitting squarely if we choose the prints. By contrast, the night invites more dark colors but here it does not matter if we choose a smooth model or a print model.
Trust in your own judgment …

Try to take the least possible advice in choosing the knot and not let anyone choose for you. The only rule there is to follow your own instinct, which is an irrational action and especially to find one with whom you find yourself quite comfortable.

… But always with some logic

See, is not like us first so we can go through your head. The choice of the tie has to follow a logic low from which we improvise. This logic has in mind to avoid too large or colorful patterns, tie knots in stamped with one single center (the knot is really horrible), very pale colors or without ties bland personality.
preferred

Namely, tie-dyed colors well defined, small geometric and non-geometric patterns (the pois, pills, lozenges, small squares, paisley, small prints …), transverse lines and at most three colors in the same tie.
And what colors?

The tie should emphasize the suit and shirt but without hitting them. It should be darker than the shirt and more intense than the jacket color. Often it is the only color for a formal look, but watch overdoing it. Avoid green pea, canary yellow and red fire suit and pink too. If we focus on dark colors, burgundy and dark red, blue, green and brown are chosen.

The shirt is the key

The combination with the shirt is a field full of mines where only your good taste can take you on the right track: We must avoid the combination of a patterned loaded tie on a plaid shirt or a combination of a striped tie with shirt striped jackets printed materials (too much for the body).
¿Scarf, tie or both?

Purists say the combination tie + small pocket handkerchief is difficult and should be avoided, since risk can be inflated; However, sometimes if both options without discrete the result is great. We personally hope for that and in perspective is a winning combination. Yes, remember that we must avoid to have a look too measured and careful detail and opt for something more relaxed and casual with what we are comfortable and we can not look too artificial.
